Legende: The HTI is the degree of tropospheric bending forecast to occur over a particular area which is an indication of the overall strength of Tropospheric DX conditions on a linear scale from 0 to 10. |
Negative Tropo Index = Below normal conditions. Bending occurs but skyward. Tropo Index of 0 = Normal midday "dead-band" conditions (Standard Atmosphere). Tropo Scatter only. Tropo Index 1 = Some downward bending occurs.but usually no discernible tropo. Tropo Index 1.4 = Seems to be the average threshold of discernible tropo. Marginal conditions. Tropo Index 2 = Weak to fair opening. Tropo Index 3 = Moderate opening. Tropo Index 4 = Good opening. Tropo Index 5 = Strong opening. Tropo Index 6 = Very strong opening. Tropo Index 7 = Intense opening. Tropo Index 8 = Very intense opening. Tropo Index 9 oder 10 = Extremely intense opening. |
